RESPONSIBILITIES
Everhona Makaya joined Trustmoore’s compliance team in Curaçao in June 2019 as a Junior Compliance Officer.

She is responsible for all compliance-related matters that are involved in the onboarding and management of Trustmoore’s clients, including the creation of the Know Your Client (KYC) documentation, the completion of client due diligence and the ongoing monitoring of their transactions.

Alongside Cindy Drommond, she also undertakes corporate secretary duties for Trustmoore Curaçao and the annual compliance audit.

FOCUS
Everhona focuses on identifying and verifying the identity of Trustmoore’s clients and ultimate beneficial owners. This includes checking the origin of their wealth, assessing their corporate structure and understanding the nature and purpose of their business.

EDUCATION
Everhona studied fiscal law and economics at the University of Curaçao, graduating in 2017. During her studies, she had the opportunity to complete an internship at a trust company in Curaçao. It was here that her interest in compliance and the associated processes began.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Everhona began her career at Stichting Belastingaccountantsbureau (SBAB) in 2017 and, after one and a half years working in the company’s fiscal department, she was delighted to be offered the opportunity to move to the trust and compliance department. Her last role before joining Trustmoore was as Compliance Team Manager at SBAB in Curaçao.
