RESPONSIBILITIES
Lotte Thonen joined our Amsterdam team as a Client Director in March 2012. In January 2019, she was promoted to Business Development Director and joined the ESG Committee. Most recently, in January 2024, she advanced to Head of Business Development in the Netherlands and Global Head of ESG/Sustainability.

FOCUS
Lotte is a champion in networking and focuses on our commercial plans and go-to-market approach in the Netherlands.
In addition, she is responsible for our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, including managing CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), double materiality, SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), and clients’ SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation) obligations.

EDUCATION
Lotte studied law at the University of Barcelona and Radboud University Nijmegen, where she earned her master’s degree in corporate law. She completed postgraduate vocational training for company lawyers with distinction and obtained her certified trust officer qualification. To further her expertise, Lotte pursued additional qualifications in business development at Nyenrode Business University and alternative funds and Grotius Academy. She recently completed the certified ESG management program at SDU and will continue with the INSEAD business sustainability program.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Lotte began her career at the international law and tax firm Loyens & Loeff in Amsterdam and later moved to Blenheim, a business and corporate law specialist based in Amsterdam. Lotte Thonen joined our Amsterdam team as a Client Director legal in March 2012. In January 2019, she was promoted to Business Development Director and started the ESG Committee initiative. Most recently, in January 2024, she advanced to Head of Business Development in the Netherlands and Global Head of ESG/Sustainability.
