Therefore, we are very happy to announce that former Director, Asset Management at KPMG Desley has joined us to help deliver our tailored corporate services to our clients.

Desley is Director of Business Development for Asia and based in our Singapore office. He leads commercial efforts for fund services in the region, providing our full suite of offerings to both open and close ended funds and is responsible for executing commercial strategies to accelerate new business growth in Asia. 

Whether you need assistance with setting up your Pan-Asian asset management hub for your investment activities in this region or if you are looking for accounting and financial reporting for your Singapore based fund, Desley and the rest of our Singapore team can support you with our range of services.  

Of course, we also have in-depth knowledge of the Singapore VCC – Variable Capital Companies – legislation which provides many advantages when you set up and domiciliate traditional or alternative investment funds in Singapore. The VCC legislative framework:

For all of our services, Desley is the primary point of contact for fund managers – understanding their challenges at various stages of the fund cycle and proposing holistic solutions by leveraging on his contacts in the funds industry, including prominent lawyers, tax advisors, fund platforms and compliance providers. His focus includes establishing new client relationships and partnerships around Asia and proposing best practice solutions at both the fund formation and downstream investment stages. 

Desley focused his career on being a trusted advisor for fund managers looking for a variety of solutions, including tax advisory, audit, corporate finance, deal advisory, big data and benchmarking and portfolio management software. He has 10 years of experience in the financial services and private funds industry. 

Prior to joining our team, Desley formed part of the senior management team at KPMG Singapore where he was director, leading new business development and channel partnership efforts for the asset management team. His portfolio of clients included private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, real estate funds and infrastructure funds.  Before KPMG, he was head of vertical sales for Asia at Western Union Business Solutions where he delivered a proprietary payments software to the largest corporate FX clients.
